Rahovec
Kosovo’s Main Wine Region
Rahovec in south-west Kosovo is widely recognized as the country’s core winemaking area, often described as the “wine centre” of Kosovo—home to the majority of the country’s vineyards and wine routes.
The region’s wine identity is also cultural: events like Hardh Fest celebrate the harvest season and keep Rahovec’s vineyard tradition visible year after year.
The Low Hills of Illyrian Grapes
Illyrian wines are tied to the low hills of Rahovec, where vineyards sit in an altitude band that shows up consistently across their wine descriptions roughly 350-500m – with prolonged exposure to sun.
This combination of hillside sites, elevation, and sunshine supports steady ripening and helps shape the fruit-forward character they describe across key varietals (like Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon).
Winemaking for Freshness and Structure
In the cellar, we use controlled fermentation (for example, Chardonnay at 15°C) to preserve freshness and aromas, and selected reds are oak-aged (such as Cabernet Sauvignon for 12 months) to build structure and complexity.
Our quality growth has also been strengthened through EU financial support, helping expand capacity and investment in production.
